Kocoforre consultations can be done either in-person, or through telephone call, fax, email, or consultation form.
Rest assured, our consultations are free and confidential.

Consulting in a foreign language
At Kocoforre, we can carry out consultations in 21 languages (some of which are done through third-party telephone interpreting services). For English, the consultation staff can directly respond to consultations. For Chinese, Indonesian, and Vietnamese, there is usually 1 day per week where an interpreter will be available to facilitate consultations. You are welcome to come in on days when no interpreting staff are present and have the consultation facilitated by a telephone interpreting service. Interpretation services are provided at no cost.

Dispatch Consultations

Several times a year, Kocoforre organizes dispatch consultations to various regions in Kochi to provide consultations to foreign residents and Japanese people and organizations related to foreign residents. These dispatches are accompanied by employees of the Takamatsu Regional Immigration Bureau Kochi Branch Office to provide professional consultations concerning residence status. Kocoforre employees can also provide consultations on a wide variety of issues pertaining to everyday life.

Free Legal Consultation Week for Foreign Residents

Designated Consultation Center of Houterasu

On December 15th, 2020, Kocoforre became a Designated Consultation Center of Houterasu. Kocoforre can now provide free legal consultations with a lawyer. If you meet the income and deposit requirements, you may receive up to 3 free legal consultations.

Online Consultations

To all municipal employees,

At Kocoforre, we have started offering online Zoom consultations, in addition to telephone consultations, for foreigners who are having issues with letters from their municipality, paperwork, or correspondence from their schools. Workplace Visits (Kocoforre Dispatch Consultations)

Kocoforre will organize dispatch consultations to workplaces that hire foreign people. At these workplace visits, we introduce Kochi Prefecture and about foreign residents in Japan. We then hold a casual consultation (with interpreters present). Here, you can freely discuss any concerns or questions you may have about life in Japan.
